Paul Makepeace Gun Dogs

Then learn what might happen on a shoot day, and how the different breeds are used to their best advantage.

Parade of Hounds
The Clinkard Beagles will be with us in the World of Dogs arena, demonstrating how they work together as a pack. This is a working hunt, and they go out regularly following the trail of a ‘runner’ (a human being who sets out about forty minutes ahead). The hounds will follow the runner’s scent over many miles until eventually he is caught, and probably licked all over!
Come and hear more. You may even get the opportunity to run…
Chase the Bunny
Always hugely popular in the World of Dogs Arena – for all breeds (we race similar breeds together). If your dog likes to chase, he will love chasing the lure and seeing if he can beat the other dogs to the finishing line. Great fun to both watch and take part in with your dog.
Gun Dogs and Falconry
A unique and fascinating demonstration of how a bird of prey can be trained to work alongside its natural predator, the dog. Watch Ben Long and his team of setters and pointers and birds of prey show you how it used to be done in Tudor times.
