In our largest arena of Hampshire Country Fair, the Andy Singleton Arena, we have space for some of our main attractions.
Jonathan Marshall’s ‘Free Spirits Show’ is a unique display which combines ancient horsemanship skills with the medieval art of falconry. When married together and accompanied by beautiful music and costume this show becomes a spectacle like no other. The carefully choreographed performance is exciting, emotional and incredibly beautiful.
Costume and showmanship make this a display like no other and was recently featured on BBC1’s Countryfile and then repeated on their ‘best of ‘ edition.
Our horse boarders will be on their third heat of the 2017 championships. An exciting extreme sport, where a boarder is pulled at speeds of up to 28mph around a series of obstacles by a galloping horse. Sounds crazy? It may be – but it’s also incredibly skilful and great fun to watch. We have both Elite and Intermediate heats in the Andy Singleton Arena (Novice in the Countryside Arena) Expect thrills and spills and plenty of flying mud!
Scurry Trials and Driving
In their third heats of the British Championships; these teams of ponies with their skilled drivers work their way around an arena full of obstacles in the fastest possible time.
Solent Dog Display Team
The team is based on fourteen to twenty handlers, working with their various breeds of dogs. The display demonstrates their ability in agility, high jump, races between the dogs and even the akita pulling his own chariot.
The dogs, small and large alike, all demonstrate how much they love agility and the rescue dogs all prove how well they can work when given another chance with responsible owners.
Parade of Hounds
The South Downs Bloodhounds will be with us again, with the Andy Singleton Arena allowing them the space to gallop with their horses and hounds in a spectacular demonstration. You will have opportunity to hear about how a modern day hunt works, and what it’s like to be a ‘runner’ for the hunt, running miles through open countryside for the hounds to track your scent, and probably being licked all over once they delightedly find you! Come into the ring and meet the hounds or visit them in the World of Dogs area.
Machine Vs Beast
Also with a chosen scurry team; we pit the skill and dexterity of these little ponies against the might of a 4×4 Isuzu vehicle under the expert handler of Jeremy – a test driver and racing driver. Horsepower v Pony power – who will you be cheering for?
Don’t forget to visit the Isuzu stand! Isuzu are one of the main sponsors of Living Heritage Country Shows.
